Welcome to Jefferson State Community College Criminal Justice Website. Since 1996, our goal has been to develop the best two-year program in the state by enhancing curriculum and building relationships with various criminal justice agencies at the local, state and federal levels. Whether you are pursuing a career in law enforcement or transferring to a bachelor’s program to pursue other related occupations, your experience here will be worthwhile. The Criminal Justice faculty members are experienced and teach courses in their fields of expertise. Classes are available days and evenings at various campuses and online.

After receiving my Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, I was a Federal Probation Officer for the Northern District of Alabama for five years. It was an honor to serve this court. Previously, I was the Site Director for the highly publicized federal narcotics operation known as “Operation Caine Break” funded by the National Institute of Justice / Police Foundation. For those three years, I worked closely with the Birmingham Police Department in the Narcotics Unit and directed the Community Policing initiative. My husband is BPD Deputy Chief Ray Tubbs and a graduate of Jefferson State and the FBI National Academy. We have two precious daughters.

I am very proud of the many JSCC Criminal Justice and Law Enforcement graduates who have established rewarding careers in law enforcement, corrections, probation/parole, private investigation, security, law and other fields. We look forward to assisting you in achieving your academic and career goals!
